We moved the tank yesterday. Almost all of the Xenia has shrunk to about a quarter the size it was, and is hanging down moving with just the water flow.

Hello, I am having to sell my tank and move it...to move it, it needs to go down a flight of steps which has a landing half way down and turn 90 degrees. One idea is to use an appliance handtruck - one that has a strap to go around the tank. How safe is this? The tank is a 180g Oceanic...

The RO/DI cartridges were changed over the summer. The TDS in is 123, out is 0 still.

The tank has been up for a year. The water is ph 8.1, temp 81, Am =0, Ni=0, Na = 0, Phos = 0, Ca=390, Alk 4.1meq, Mg=900, Lights are MH 250w (3) 6hrs a day, PC Atinics 39w (4) 8 hrs a day, bultbs were replaced July 6th. I feed every other day, once, alternate 1 cube mystis shrimp or plankton...

Ok...I am getting tired of using the magnet on the sides EVERY DAY and stirring up the sand. When I get home from work, the tank has a thin brown coating on glass and the white sand is covered with what I thought was diatoms but maybe it is brown algea? Suggestions?

Hello, I have three small (1/2") creatures (sorry, tried to take pics but they were useless), that when open has a red center, has lots of tenicles, ending with a white dot. They close up to a red blob. Not sure what they are or even how to search for them.

What do most people do with their back wall and sides of their tank? I have been working to get coraline algea to cover the sides and back. It was looking good until I had hair algea cover everything in the tank. As I have been fighting that, and I am making progress, the back wall is sorta...

I do have fish in the tank - 2 clowns, 1 royal gamma, 1 potter angel, 1 algea blenny but they have been in there the whole time. I used to be able to see the pods some during the day and always at night with a flashlight. Now, I cannot find any with the flashlight at night.

I seem to have lost all of my pods and bristle worms...a few months ago, the tank was crawling with them and I often spent hours after the lights were out watching all kinds of pods and worms come out of the sand and rock. Now nothing! I am not sure what I could have done to kill it all...

Biffer.. My substrate is about 2" deep and is a mix of arrognite and live sand. When I had the fish only, I used Southdown but pulled that out and put this mix in. LFS did not have a sea hare this weekend but I will keep checking back until they do. They are going to set one aside.

Reeffreak, It WAS a wet/dry. I took out the bio-balls and the tray, now the overflow comes in one side, the water goes over the first wall, and on other side of the sump, the return pump sends the water back to the tank. In the middle are two pumps - one sends water to the phosphate...
