Help with lights

Just received my Nova Extreme today.... Question is there are two "daylight" 10,000k bulks and two 460nm actinic bulbs.. Do I supposed to leave all bulbs on 8 hrs or so daily or run daylight bulbs during the day and actinic at night?? I wasn't aware that you have to have a glass top for my tank in order to use this light... Is this true? Right now I just have pulsing xenia...

Run the actinics an hour before your 10ks turn on and leave them on and turn them off an hour after the 10k's go off.

+1 cathic, and you don't need to have a glass top on your tank to use those lights.

Yes, all lights stay on during the day. All 4 bulbs go off at night.
