Grassman's 55 Gallon Reef

I was bored last weekend so I took a picture of my tank and labled where all my corals are.

I went fish shopping yesterday with Kim. I picked up a clown, yellow tang and a 'shell'. ;)

Here's Ben and Cashews 'discussing' who's living where.

I like how you labeled your frags in your tank. i thought about doing the same and adding the flow of current so some experts can chime in and make sure my corals are placed appropriately amongst my tank

That is cool, how did you label them like that?

also, buddy, if your corals are happy in that spot, then they are in the correct flow. If no, then move them. Its not an exact science. I will sound totally hippy dippy with this, but listen to your tank, it will tell you if things are working or not.

I have a few a couple I have no idea were to put them. I just ask questions and give answer to their questions about water chemisty and flow. I was told mushrooms don't like a lot of flow, but they are doing better with a lot of flow then they did with low flow. Asking questions and reading up on them is the best answer I can give.

Another new fish. Kim brought home another Blue Pacific Tang to replace Ariel that died before Christmas last week.

She also picked up a nice red mushroom frag.

Here they both are in the tank.

My Green Stripped Mushroom shifted a little to the left revealing a few baby mushroom.

Last week my Green Tipped Mushroom decided it was getting too big and it was time to split.

On Sunday I split the rock it was on. I guess I just made my first frag.

Today is pay day and all the bills have been paid so I had to pick up rabbit food and walked out with another clown, another cleaner Shrimp, Mr. Crowley, and another emerald crab, Tiny! I had to call him Tiny cause he's about twice the size of my other emerald crab.

If you have the lights and the water quality for the nem go for it, but i think the carpets are one of the more notorious fish eaters. Not something i would be too concerned about, just something to be aware of

And the tank is looking great!

The maxi-minis are pretty hardy anemones, I think you'll be ok. They're pretty safe as far as fish go too they don't get very big, 4-6" max.

Lyle asked me for my frogspawn back as he had someone who really wanted one and couldn't wait 2 weeks for his order to come in. Not really wanting to give it up, he promised me a bigger and better one. I went for it. My new frogspawn came in of Friday & I went to pick it up today. His Mom so nicely took it out of tank and put it in a big bag for me. Carried it up from for me and then dropped it on the floor. I went from a 2 headed frogspawn to a 7 headed frogspawn then to a 3 headed frogspawn and a 4 headed frogspawn. Too bad I didn't get a picture of it before it hit the floor.

Here's my old one;

Awww well I hope it recovers! It's still an upgrade from the previous one!

Thanks Biff. It still looked pissed last night, but here's what it looked like tonight.

I told Kim it was time for a bigger tank, like a 250 gallon, and her stuff had to go out of the basement, and here's her reply.
