I have an 8 bulb Tek t-5 ho Fixture......bought it used. It has two switches. Should i do all white on one swith and blue on other? Right now its random. And how should I time the on and off? All or one then the other?

Thanks guys......Some times its every other day....some times its every three days...basic params test good. i have a magnetic scrubber. and yes small hair algae since i got bad food and killed my foxface. also cheato is shrinking since i added a bigger sump.

I get green sheen on the inside of the tank seems like every two days. What causes this and way to slow it down?

Would it be ok to have the chaeto in a bag and sit till later in the evening. Like 12 hours. I'll have it in climate control.

The baffles serve as barriers. Some are bubble traps. and keep any chaeto in a certain chamber to keep your return pump just pumping clear water. I believe that is all the baffles are for if not others will let you know. i think you should be ok if your water stays clear to pump back inthe DT...

I run It constant yes. thats what I was told. my chaeto is growing faster then a wildfire

I have a cfl equal to 90 watt on the chaeto 24/7.

what is causing red slime in my sump. is it not enough flow? guessing its flowing 150 gallons per hour. 75g display tank. no slime in DT. just the sump. sump has filter sock chaeto live rock return pump.

What is the oil slick on the top of the water. Is that normal or something wrong?
