it looks like pvc in the overflow so don't unscrew it just glue in a durso using a union. or one of the two piece style unions that unscrew in the middle. can't think of the name but looks like you have plenty of room....

does anyone use any controllers on their tanks? the book for this one says the probes for ph and orb should be stored with a cap n them with tap water. it says if they are aloud to dry they will be inacurate. the fish store guy said that was a way for them to get more money and the probes were...

anyone use the aquadyne octopus 3000 controller? i found 1 for $200.00 and looks like a great deal. it is used and has 3 probes. 1 for temp, 1 for ph, and 1 for orp.

can u test the fluid with the ph kit you got the 8 reading with? just to see, if the fluid is reading right on the tape then u feel better about thinking ur probe is bad? i don't test anything yet, not setup. just wonder about a test the tester kind of thing?:question:

Does the old pump have a venturi? if so just get some fittings and move it to the mag. some one else may have more to offer but i'm sure there will be people asking for a pic of the skimmer setup to better understand...
