Not sure on the Nikon, but with the Canon you can use your manual settings in movie mode. might be able to play with depth of field so it doesn't search for focus... will try to play some on my end with the Canon.. you got me curious.

Ya, i only use manual mode anyway, but now that you mention it I had it on a pretty low aperture. I also wondered if I should have had it on continuous focus.
