Phastrohs 220 Gallon Build - Pic Heavy

Re: iPhone 4s Test #2

Yeah I am going to make one to rule them all but when I do can you delete the others if I let you know?

Re: iPhone 4s Test #2

Actually if you just start a tank showcase thread, I can merge all of these the threads together that way all of the nice things people have said about your tank can also be in your build thread.

Just send me a pm with a link the thread when you get around to doing that

Yes it came that big and it has been in the tank for close to 2 months and is getting its purple color back.

I see small frags for $40 but this was like $70 from Liveaquaria. I could make like 18 frags from it I see selling for $40 each. Might make a good side business. I think it is worth it by far for that coral and they have plenty of great deals.

It doesn't really make sense for me to get anything from liveaquaria unless I'll be ordering a lot because of the shipping charge... But my LFS has such high prices that I might get my anthias from LA and get some awesome corals while I'm at it. I really want a birdsnest. :D

$225 every 3 months or so will net you more than you can get locally if you get frags all the time. I just got sick of mini frags costing as much as a full coral.

Here are some newer photos. I just got a new large plate coral. It is about an 8" plate so that should tell you how big everything else is. I also got a group of Orange Bam Bam Zoas. I gave the lady like a 10 Head Candy Cane just to get them out of my tank because they grow like weeds in there.

I made her business cards so I traded for the plate instead of the cash. She sells corals and stuff. Great set-up she has and she has licenses and all that stuff.

So enjoy and I am uploading videos to Youtube but want to finish watch the playoff game while they upload.

This thing is huge trust me! You are seeing only a part of it. When I got it, it was only 2 inches, now I would guess 8 at least.

Looks really beautiful Phastroh, but I would be very cautious of your brittle star. The green ones will catch and eat fish when they are that large. They are known as green stars of death.

Lil fish beat me to it...i was gonna say the same thing about your star fish. The tank is looking good bro, and that unknown coral almost looks like some sort of favia.

+...uhhh 4 is it now?

That particular variety of star is a very efficient hunter. If your fish start to disappear, that's a good suspect to point your finger at.

I'll keep any eye out. Hopefully my fish are too large unless it doesn't matter how large they are. I can easily catch it though. It comes after food quickly.

I normally feed them once a week(meaning the other star) so it should never be hungry if that helps.

So the black ones do not kill fish because I have one that is larger than that green one and he has been around for over a year.

I do not want to lose any fish but if one is missing he is gone. I can see his den as it is not under a rock which I though was weird.

Alright you people stop it hahaha!!

If you don't I'll sneak into your house and put a Green Brittle or 10 in your tank.

I know I was supposed to do research but I mean it was the same as my black star so I never even thought there was an issue.

Maybe I will catch it next chance and keep it in my Fuge but then if I do not feed it regularly it will die. It gets plenty scraps in the tank because I keep a small CUC.

Just wondering what makes this green one so different in behavior from the black ones.
