    My 265

My 75 gallon sprung a leak early this summer and after I recovered from that I decided to go big. It's still in the beginning stages.

    Fuzzy dwarf lion fish sting

Just an FYI, it hurts. I got popped by Boris as I was pulling out a small batch of green hair algae around 7pm. As a chef and a former land surveyor I have a high threshold for pain, this was two hours of burning throbbing hell. Almost five hours later I'm just about normal. I took benydryl...

I picked this little 4" monti gem up today for $15. A dude on the Atl reef site was selling various monti frags. Damn the LFS. :bounce: J/K, I like my LFS.

    New to skimmers................

I just received my Remora pro protein hang-on skimmer w/ Danner supreme 3 powerhead. Any advice or tricks to this beast? It's bubbling and after adjusting the screw, the collection cup has sort of stopped filling with water. I'd like to avoid a flood. Any thoughts or tips would be most...

    HOB cleaning.

For those that have a HOB filter, how often do you clean it out? I have around five pounds of rubble and frag plugs in it along with a clump of chaeto and it's a PITA pulling all of that stuff out. I've been doing it every six month or so. Should I be doing it every three months?

    Uncommon or very uncommon?

I've read many times that clowns hosting a condy just doesn't happen. My condy has been clown friendly for years. Anyone else here have the same good fortune?

I've seen this creature for some time in my 75. It's been tough to get a decent pic of it.

    Beach sand

I brought back 15 or so pounds of sand from the beach from my last trip to PC. I placed it in my already running(1 yr) 10 gallon that just......... runs upstairs with a small CUC. All has been well. I dug this sand up in the surf and harvested from about 6" or more from the top of the sand...

    Water conditioner

I'm in the planning stages of setting up a 75 gallon for an eel at the end of August. Instead of buying SW from my LFS I thought I could save some bucks mixing my own SW using conditioned tap water. Any suggestions on products would be appreciated.

    Concrete blocks

Have any of you used concrete as LR? Been toying with the idea in the future for an eel tank. It would be a good way to trim some of the cost and use three or so blocks to make a cool cave. What say you?

    Hello.

I've kept SWF for close to four years and have learned much over that time about this hobby. Well, it's becoming a way of life for me. :D I currently have a 12 gallon nano, 24 gallon nano and a 37 gallon. I like to do water changes every 7-10 days. I'm a firm believer in using a bunch of...
