For those that have a HOB filter, how often do you clean it out? I have around five pounds of rubble and frag plugs in it along with a clump of chaeto and it's a PITA pulling all of that stuff out. I've been doing it every six month or so. Should I be doing it every three months?

I've read many times that clowns hosting a condy just doesn't happen. My condy has been clown friendly for years. Anyone else here have the same good fortune?

I'm in the planning stages of setting up a 75 gallon for an eel at the end of August. Instead of buying SW from my LFS I thought I could save some bucks mixing my own SW using conditioned tap water. Any suggestions on products would be appreciated.

Have any of you used concrete as LR? Been toying with the idea in the future for an eel tank. It would be a good way to trim some of the cost and use three or so blocks to make a cool cave. What say you?
