d2mini's Epic Fantabulous New Reef Build

oh cool! were did you acquire said giant forceps. i've been looking for forceps longer than 10" with an angled end.

also, how long do you leave the bulb on for the magroves every day?

thanks!

Hold on to your panties, ladies..... d2mini and his giant stainless forceps just snagged another mantis! :D

He came out to eat when I fed the tank. Took two tries. Luckily he was still curious after the first try.

Cool!
I'll get the garlic and butter. Heat up the water yo.

haha, he's about 2.5"-3"... hard to tell exactly.

The forceps i got off ebay. It was listed under medical supplies. They are around 24-28" long with the angled ends.
The mangrove bulb is on about 10 hours.

Open Brain still recovering from when is was in temporary holding, but doing much better. He had receded back so much that he was probably 90% skeleton.

That's a lovely open brain.
I tried an open brain too just recently, it did not work out too well.
Right after the coral dip the mouth was already open so much it was peeling off the skeleton. Three days later it was disintegrating in the tank.

I'm not sure if I got a bad specimen or if my tank is just not yet ready for open brains.

I realized I never got a shot of my new starfish that came with all my stuff from Tampa Bay Saltwater... so here ya go. :)

Not a hitch-hiker... he was intentionally sent by Richard with all the other extra goodies.

I still have this orange one that he sent me nearly 3 years ago.
He shrunk in size during all the tank moves but he's still kicking.
